What is Lugs?
Lugs is a privacy-first watch collection tracker for iPhone and Android. It helps collectors catalog watches, photos, wear history, service records, values, documents, timing notes, and exports without requiring an account.
What is the best way to track a watch collection?
The best way to track a watch collection is to keep every watch in one structured record with photos, reference numbers, purchase details, service history, value notes, documents, and wear history. Lugs is built around that record, so the collection stays searchable and useful over time.
Can I track a watch collection without an account?
Yes. Lugs starts without email, password, signup, or login. Your collection lives on your device by default, and optional cloud backup is only used if you choose Lugs+.
Is Lugs better than a spreadsheet for watch collecting?
A spreadsheet can list watches. Lugs is built for collectors who also want photos, wear logging, service records, value history, insurance exports, timing notes, wishlist tracking, and mobile-first browsing in one place.
Can I catalog watches for insurance in Lugs?
Yes. Lugs stores the details insurers often ask for, including photos, model and reference information, purchase data, user-provided current value, service records, and documents. Insurance PDF export is free, but insurer requirements and policy terms still control what is accepted.
Can I keep watch photos and documents in Lugs?
Yes. Lugs can keep watch photos, document images, notes, purchase details, service records, and value information attached to the watch record so they are easier to find later.
Can Lugs track wear history and cost per wear?
Yes. Lugs logs wear days and keeps purchase and value records with each watch, giving collectors the data needed to understand wrist time and cost-per-wear context.
Can I record watch service history?
Yes. Each watch can have service records with dates, costs, providers, notes, and reminders, so maintenance history stays attached to the watch.
Can Lugs track mechanical watch accuracy?
Yes. Lugs can store dated accuracy readings and timing notes for mechanical watches, helping you spot trends before a service visit. It does not diagnose magnetism, amplitude, damage, or service needs.
Does Lugs provide watch values, appraisals, or authentication?
No. Lugs stores user-provided purchase prices, user-provided current values, notes, documents, and photos. It is not an appraisal, valuation, authentication, or proof-of-ownership service.
Can I export my Lugs data?
Yes. Lugs is designed around data ownership. You can export your records to JSON or CSV, and you can generate an insurance PDF when you need a shareable document.
What is included in the free tier?
The free tier supports up to 5 watches and 3 months of wear history. It also includes core collection tracking and free insurance PDF export.
What is the difference between Pro and Lugs+?
Pro is a one-time purchase for unlimited watches, full history, analytics, and advanced collection features. Lugs+ is the monthly cloud tier that adds backup and restore, plus all Pro features.
Is cloud backup required?
No. Lugs is local-first and works without cloud backup by default. Lugs+ cloud backup and restore is optional for collectors who want a paid backup path.
Is Lugs available on iPhone and Android?
Yes. Lugs is available for iPhone on the App Store and for Android on Google Play.
